Calling Peer Specialists:
Research Volunteers Needed Nationwide!

Survey closes May 1st!

Do you currently work as a peer support provider?

If so, your perspective
on work-related stress is needed.

Stress and the Peer Workforce

We hear a lot about stress in the peer workforce, but there hasn’t been much research about it:  You can help change that!  Understanding work experiences benefits programs & training.

This study was designed by a Certified Peer Support Specialist who is now a researcher at the University of California, Berkeley.  Peers and allies contributed to the study concept.  The study was approved by the UC Berkeley Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects (CPHS #2016-04-8658).

Eligibility

Whether you experience stress at work or not, we'd like to understand your perspective.  You may be eligible to participate if all of these apply:
  • You were trained and currently provide direct peer support services in a mental health organization, paid or unpaid
  • You use your own recovery experience to assist others with mental health & other life challenges
  • Your job can only be performed by someone with personal experience in recovery
  • You are over age 18 and work in the United States

How to Help

Eligible participants are asked to complete an anonymous online survey lasting about 30 minutes.

As a thank-you, participants who complete the survey will be entered in a random drawing to win a $5 Amazon.com gift card.  Chances of winning are about 1 in 10.

For More Info

If you qualify for inclusion in the study, you will be informed of the study methods and your rights as a research participant before beginning the main survey.

But you can also learn more about the study at any time, whether you've qualified or not.  Please send questions to the investigator, Stephania Hayes, by e-mail: stephania@berkeley.edu
